Ann L. Sussman graduated from Oberlin
College in Oberlin, Ohio in 1984 with a BA in East Asian Studies,
specializing in Japanese language. She graduated from the University of
Denver School of Law in 1991. During law school, Ann received the
American Jurisprudence Award in Trial Tactics and was a semi-finalist in
the Hoffman Cup Trial Competition. She was admitted to the Colorado Bar
in 1992.
In 1992, Ann joined the Colorado State
Public Defenders Office and over the next six years, handling all types
of criminal cases, from simple misdemeanor traffic cases to complex
homicides. Since 1998, Ann has practiced in the
areas of family law and criminal law.
Ann’s current practice is
primarily focused in the field of family law, and includes premarital
agreements, domestic partnerships, child custody, child support,
maintenance, and divorce matters.
Ann also practices Collaborative
Law, a process by which the parties assisted by collaboratively trained
attorneys, agree to resolve legal issues in family law matters without
proceeding to court. Ann also offers unbundled legal services to parties
who may only need the attorney’s assistance for specific tasks such as
document drafting.
Ann is an attorney/mediator and member
of the Rocky Mountain Collaborative Law Professionals, the Colorado
Collaborative Family Law Professionals, the International Academy of
Collaborative Professionals, the Colorado Family Law Section, and
Colorado Criminal Defense Bar. Ann also volunteers as a mediator with
Jefferson County Mediation Services Program.
Ann lives in downtown Denver and
enjoys singing with the Harmony Chorale, playing guitar and drumming. |
